Reset your Network password

Faculty, staff and student who have set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for network logins can use the self-service tool to reset a forgotten password. Follow the steps below to reset your password and regain access to your account.

Step 1: Go to the password recovery site

The first step is to visit the password recovery site and identify yourself by entering your Buffalo State e-mail address:

  1. Go to: passwordreset.buffalostate.edu
  2. When the Get back into your account page appears, enter your Buffalo State email address. Then, enter the characters in the picture and click Next.

Step 2: Choose a verification method

Choose one of the verification methods that you established when you registered Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).  

  1. Select one of the verification methods to text or call your phone, enter the corresponding phone number and click Next.

  1. Enter the verification code you received via text or call and click Next.

Step 3: Choose a new 15+ character password

When the choose a new password screen appears, enter your new 15+ character password or passphrase and click Finished when done.
