Cloudflare WARP FAQs

Why does it keep prompting me to re-authenticate? I was connected yesterday but I can't access things today.

Many apps are limited in how long the connection remains active before needing to re-authenticate. For instance, in the case of Remote Desktop it is set to require re-authentication after twelve hours. If twelve hours has passed since you last used Remote Desktop, you'll receive a pop-up notification like the ones below prompting you to re-authenticate. Go ahead and click the button/pop-up to do so. A browser window should open confirming that the authentication was successful. After authenticating, you may need to restart the app that you were using (e.g. Remote Desktop).

Note: If the pop-up disappears before you have a chance to click on it, you can go into the Cloudflare WARP settings to start the re-authentication process. Go to settings (gear icon) > Preferences > Account … and you'll see a button for Re-Authenticate Session. Just click this and a webpage will load confirming that the re-authentication was successful.

Why can't I connect to my work desktop?

There could be several reasons why you are having trouble connecting.

Can I make the Cloudflare WARP icon visible on my Windows taskbar so I can easily see if it's on or off?

Yes. Right-click the taskbar and choose Taskbar Settings. Scroll down to the Notification area and click the Select which icons appear on the taskbar link. From here, you can toggle the Cloudflare icon on so it always appears in the notification area.

When I try to re-authenticate it says "Can't Open the Page" because it can't establish a secure connection. What do I do?

If you use a Mac and you are seeing the message "Safari Can't Open the Page" when attempting to complete the Cloudflare WARP re-authentication process (e.g. to use Remote Desktop), follow these steps to enable the Cloudflare WARP certificate on your device

can't open the page

I accidentally set up Cloudflare WARP while signed in as a different user and now it's not working when I sign-in

If you set up Cloudflare WARP while signed into the computer with different credentials than the ones you normally sign-in with, you will need to clear your browser cookies/history and then uninstall and reinstall the Cloudflare WARP client
