Webcam Recommendations

Check to see if your existing device is already equipped

Most modern laptops and tablets have webcams included as part of their standard equipment. They are typically installed in the frame above the display. On a Windows system, you can verify your webcam simply by opening the Camera app and checking for a picture.

Considerations for modern webcams

  • USB connector - your webcam should be able to physically connect to your device. Most devices use a USB (aka USB-A) style connection.
  • 720p or above - the resolution of your webcam should be 720p or higher for best results.
  • Built-in microphone(s) - your webcam should have a built-in microphone.

Recommended webcam models

Below are some webcam models which have been extensively tested on campus. Due to the excessive price-gouging that is occurring from supply shortages, we have included MSRP pricing for your reference.
