Accessing Brightspace on smart phones and tablets

The Brightspace companion app, "Pulse," does not have full functionality. We strongly recommend using Brightspace through web browsers when using tablets and smart phones.

Accessing Brightspace on a Mobile Web Browser

  1. Open your preferred browser (officially supported browsers listed here)
  2. Go to the following link: MYBUFFSTATE: Students page
  3. Scroll down until you see the Toolbox.

  4. Select Brightspace 
  5. Sign in to Brightspace with your credentials and verify afterwards with your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
  6. Make sure to select the current semester (i.e. BUC - 24SP for Spring Semester 2024)
  7. From there, it should navigate similarly to the desktop version! 

 

Bonus for Safari Users: Home Screen "app" shortcut

  1. When logged into Brightspace on your browser, while on the webpage, click on the "Share" button, which is located below the URL.

     

     
  2. Scroll down until you see "Add to Home Screen" and click it.

     
     
  3. You can rename it to "Brightspace" when prompted. 
  4. It should now be on your Home Screen as an app! It functions as a shortcut to the website, and will open in your browser.
