Lecture Capture Assistance

Service Description

Classroom Support can provide guidance and assistance with digital capture of content for a class or event.

For scheduled academic session captures, this process also requires consultation with an Instructional Design specialist from IDDL.

Standard Features

Classroom Support can help with issues related to the following:

  • Train or advise users on how to capture content using installed equipment, a document camera or campus-owned mobile device
  • Direct users to appropriate resources for storing content
  • Assist with initial setup of equipment for capture

The user is responsible for:

  • It is the requestor’s responsibility to capture, edit, caption, and post their videos for student consumption.
  • Consult with Instructional Design specialists (if necessary).

Roles and Responsibilities

User Responsibilities: 

  • Arranging for captioning of content
  • Arranging for storage of content in YuJa Video or other locations
  • Managing stored content
  • Management of all associated intellectual property rights
  • Providing an accurate description of the intent for content recording

Classroom Support Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Support will respond to inquiry or resolve issue as soon as possible.
  • Classroom Support will communicate the status of the request to the user as needed.

Service Level Agreement

Response and resolution times are based on operational hours (Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM).

Service Level 2 - Normal   
Response Time 1 business day
Resolution Time 3 business days
Please Note: Response Time is measured from ticket submission date/time until the ticket is moved to an 'In Process' status. Resolution Time is measured from ticket submission date/time until the ticket is completed/resolved.  A ticket in an 'On Hold' status (e.g. IT is waiting for additional information from the requestor) does not count toward the Resolution Time.

SUNY Buffalo State (via Classroom Support) cannot record, store, or deliver any content that is in violation of state or federal laws or Buffalo State policies. SUNY Buffalo State cannot assume responsibility for misuse of content or content that is discovered to be in violation of aforementioned policies or laws.

Limitation of Liability- SUNY Buffalo State will have no liability or responsibility in the event of any loss or interruption of the services and/or media content described within this agreement due to causes beyond its reasonable control or ability to foresee.
