Learning Management System (Blackboard) - Course Restore

Service Description

Request the restoration of course content and student data (optional) from an archived Blackboard course. 

Standard Features

Restoring a course uploads the archive package of course content into Blackboard Learn in the same state that it was in at the time it was archived. Courses are archived and deleted off of the server 1 year after the course is taught. Once a course is deleted off the server, course can be restored and requested by the faculty member who was the official instructor of record.

Optional Features

Restoration of student data (in addition to the course content).

Roles and Responsibilities

Requester must be the instructor of record listed in Banner or a departmental head to request a course restoration.

Click the Open a Ticket button and complete the request form.

Service Audience 

Faculty and staff.

Service Level Agreement

Response and resolution times are based on operational hours (Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM).

Service Level 2 - Normal  
Response Time 1 business day
Resolution Time 3 business days
Please Note: Response Time is measured from ticket submission date/time until the ticket is moved to an 'In Process' status. Resolution Time is measured from ticket submission date/time until the ticket is completed/resolved.

Service Pricing

There are no costs associated with this service for the restoration of a course archived from a past semester. Courses are scheduled to be archived in March and September.

Please Note: There may be a fee incurred by the department to restore a current semester course from an archive.
