WHY ARE WE UPGRADING TO SELF-SERVICE BANNER 9 (SSB9)?

• Support for Self-Service Banner 8 (SSB8) is ending.
• The new version offers a variety of new and updated features, including a responsive, mobile-friendly interface,

WHAT'S NEW IN SSB9?

• While the new Banner looks different, the main functionality for students, faculty, and staff will remain the same.
• With SSB9, there will be an overall improvement to browser compatibility and accessibility.
• A mobile-friendly design makes the registration process more accessible to students, faculty, and advisers.
• Single Sign-On (SSO) vs. Banner ID and pin: the new version of Banner (SSB9) will reduce security risks by changing the way we login. No more Banner ID and pin! You will use your Buffalo State username and password.  

HOW DO I ACCESS THE NEW BANNER?

• Students will be able to access SSB9 from the MYBUFFSTATE: Student page: https://suny.buffalostate.edu/students .
• Faculty will find their link to SSB9 on the MYBUFFSTATE: Faculty & Staff site: https://suny.buffalostate.edu/forfacultystaff .

WHEN WILL SSB9 BE AVAILABLE?

• We are planning on switching to SSB9 in October. However, we will continue working on the upgrade till the end of the calendar year. 

IS THERE HELP DOCUMENTATION AVAILABLE?

• While SSB9 is very intuitive, we will provide help documentation for students, faculty, and staff (coming soon).
