How to register for classes

  1. Login to the Student Landing Pagehttps://banner.buffalostate.edu/StudentSelfService/ssb/studentCommonDashboard 
  2. Select Registration, then Register for Classes

  3. Select a term. Please note that there is a known defect with the top item in the Term drop down. The label is very light, which makes it nearly invisible. Click on the top row even if you cannot see anything. The issue should be resolved soon.

  4. There are three tabs available on the next page: Find Classes, Enter CRNs, and Schedule and Options. If you know CRNs, select the Enter CRNs tab and enter them one at a time.

  5. If you need to search for classes, use the Find Classes tab. On the search result page, pick a class and click Add.

  6. Reach out to the instructor if you need to receive an override to register.

How to Drop a Class

 

 

  1. Login to the Student Landing Pagehttps://banner.buffalostate.edu/StudentSelfService/ssb/studentCommonDashboard 
  2. Select Registration, then Register for Classes

  3. Expand the Summary panel to view your current registrations. Select the class you want to drop and pick "Web Drop" under Action. Click Submit

How to Look Up Adviser

  1. Login to the Student Landing Pagehttps://banner.buffalostate.edu/StudentSelfService/ssb/studentCommonDashboard 
  2. Select Student Profile. Your adviser information will displayed at the bottom of the page.
  3. Your holds, if you have any, will display at the top of the page

Current technical issues in Self-Service Banner

  1. 404 Error - the error displays while trying to open the landing page or any SSB pages. Short-term solution: try to open the link using a different browser or clear cache and cookies. We'll provide an update when the issue is resolved.
  2. Blank top entry in some of the drop downs like shown below. It is not actually blank, but the label text is white on a white background, which makes it invisible. Short-term solution: highlight the invisible label to change the text color or just click on it.
