How to register for classes

  1. Login to the Student Landing Page using your Buffalo State username and password.
  2. Select Registration, then Register for Classes

  3. Select a term from the Terms Open for Registration drop-down.

  4. There are three tabs available on the next page: Find Classes, Enter CRNs, and Schedule and Options. If you know CRNs, select the Enter CRNs tab and enter them one at a time.

  1. If you need to search for classes, use the Find Classes tab. On the search result page, pick a class and click Add.

  1. Reach out to the instructor if you need to receive an override to register.

How to Drop a Class

  1. Login to the Student Landing Page using your Buffalo State username and password.
  2. Select Registration, then Register for Classes.

  3. Expand the Summary panel to view your current registrations. Select the class you want to drop and pick Drop Web under Action. Click Submit

How to Look Up Adviser

  1. Login to the Student Landing Page using your Buffalo State username and password.
  2. Select Student Profile. Your adviser information will displayed at the bottom of the page.
  3. Your holds, if you have any, will display at the top of the page

How to navigate to other Banner pages

  1. Login to the Student Landing Page using your Buffalo State username and password.
  2. You can navigate to other Banner pages using the four-square menu. Just click on the icon in the top left corner and select a page from the drop down.

How to check registration status

  1. Login to the Student Landing Page using your Buffalo State username and password.
  2. Select Registration, then Prepare for Registration.
  3. View your registration status under the first tab.

How to apply for Pass/Fail

Note: the process will change after Dec 31, 2025. The Pass/Fail application will be moved to the new Banner environment. 

  1. Login to Legacy Banner.
  2. Navigate to Student, then Registration. Click on Pass/Fail Request.

  3. Follow the instructions on the form. If you have any questions, please reach out to the Registrar's Office.
