Setup the OneDrive app on your personal or campus Mac

OneDrive can be accessed from any device, on or off campus. This step-by-step guide explains how to setup the OneDrive app on a personal or campus Mac device.

Step-By-Step Guide 

  1. If you are using a personal device, you will need to download and install the latest version of OneDrive from the App Store. This step can be skipped if you are using a campus Mac.  
  2. When the install is complete, go to your Applications folder and launch OneDrive.

  1. Enter your Buffalo State username followed by @buffalostate.edu and click Sign in.

  1. You'll be redirected to the Buffalo State sign-in page. Enter your Buffalo State username and your network password, and then click Sign in.

  1. Leave the default folder location as is and click Next.

  1. Proceed through the remaining prompts by choosing Next.  
  2. At the end of the Get to Know Your OneDrive tutorial, click Open OneDrive Folder.

  1. You can now access any of the files and folders you have in OneDrive directly from your computer (Finder).

  1. You will also see a OneDrive icon on your menu bar. Click this icon any time you want to view the sync status of your OneDrive. This is also an easy way to open your OneDrive folder.
