Renew the secure wireless certificate on an iPhone

If the secure wireless certificate on your iPhone has expired, follow the steps below to renew the certificate.  These steps must be performed from the device that you are renewing!

Please Note These instructions are based on iOS 12.3.1. The steps in this guide may be slightly different depending on the model of phone you have, and the iOS version you are running.

Step 1: Remove old secure wireless profile

  1. Tap Settings > General > Profile.
  2. Tap DVA_Student if you are a student or DVA_F&S-NSL if you are faculty/staff.

  1. Tap Remove Profile.

  1. Enter your phone’s passcode.
  2. Tap Delete.

Step 2: Renew your device

  1. Temporarily connect and sign-in to the BengalOpen16 wireless network.
  2. Open Safari and visit:
  3. Tap the Enroll Your Device button.
  4. When the Welcome to Buffalo State Secure WiFi screen appears, tap Continue.
  5. Tap Normal Login.
  6. Enter your Buffalo State username and password, tap Continue.
  7. You should see a Profile Downloaded message.

  1. Return to Settings and tap General > Profile.
  2. Tap DVB_Student or DVB_F&S-NSL.

  1. Tap Install on the Install Profile screen.

  1. Tap Install again at the Unmanaged Root Certificate screen. Tap Install a third time when prompted.

  1. Enter your phone’s passcode when prompted.
  2. Tap Install, tap Install again, tap Done.

Your certificate is now renewed and your device should be connected to the Bengal wireless network. If your device doesn't connect automatically, try toggling your wireless off and back on.
