Several faculty, staff and students on campus received a phishing email purporting to be from “Buffalo State University.” The message warns the recipient that “We received a request from you to terminate your Office 365 email due to a dual college/universities account” and instructs the recipient to follow a link “If this request was made accidentally and you have no knowledge of it.” This is a phishing scam designed to steal your sign-in information!
Following the link in the email takes you to a Buffalo State branded form prompting you for personal information including your name, phone number and password. If you followed this link and completed this web form, it is imperative that you change your password immediately!
