Creating a Video Quiz in YuJa

1. You may login directly to YuJa or access the service through Brightspace. 

   1. To log in through Brightspace:

      1. Navigate to one of your courses.

      2. Click on "Course Tools" in the Navbar.

      3. Select YuJa from the drop-down menu.

2. Find the video on which the quiz will be based

   1. If the video was migrated from Ensemble, you should find it in a separate folder with your username as the title. Double click on the folder to open it and search for your video

   2. Hover over the thumbnail for the video you want with your mouse and select More...

3. Scroll down the Media Details pop-up and click on Quizzes from the menu on the left

4. Click on the +Create Video Quiz button. Please note: more than one quiz may be created for the same video (for different classes, sections, semesters, etc.)

   

5. Click on the Settings button at the top of the page to select the appropriate Quiz Options and Gradebook Options for your quiz. Remember to click Save when finished.

6. Enter Quiz Name in the bar above the video viewing area

7. Play the video or drag the timeline indicator at the bottom until you reach the point you want to insert a quiz question. 

   1. NOTE: At this time, we recommend against adding questions at the very end of the video. Please make sure to insert questions at least one second before the end of the video.

8. Use the Add Question button below the video viewing area to compose your quiz questions, including the question Type, Question, and possible Answers. The information can be copied and pasted from your Ensemble Quiz as described in step 5 in the "Starting with your Ensemble video quiz" section above. Remember to click Save when finished. 

   1. Compose additional questions in this way until you have completed building your video quiz.

9. Once all questions for the video quiz have been entered, you may use the Preview, Save, or Post buttons at the top to make sure your quiz is ready to share.

   1. Preview - allows you to see the quiz from a student's perspective

   2. Save - allows you to save the quiz to your YuJa account if you wish to embed the quiz directly in the LMS (Brightspace) later. Please refer to YuJa's D2L - Integrating YuJa Video Quizzes with D2L Content Activities article for more information on using your quizzes in the LMS to sync with the Brightspace Grade Book.

   3. Post - allows you post the quiz to a Media Channel (e.g. a Course or Group) to share it with Students, If you wish for them to take the quiz directly in the YuJa Video Platform. PLEASE NOTE: Adding a video quiz to your course using method will NOT sync with the Brightspace Grade Book.
