Web Conferencing Information

The PC installed in this room is directly connected to a Vaddio webcam and microphone system. It can be utilized for a variety of web conferencing applications. Please note that as of this writing, the only officially supported web conferencing solutions at Buffalo State is Microsoft Teams.

Other web conferencing solutions can be used in this room; but the user is responsible for procuring login information, setting up sessions, et cetera...

Using the PC (presentation or web conference)

  1. To use the PC for a presentation or web conference, first power on the room. This can be done by approaching the touch panel at the front of the room, pressing on the screen to "wake" it up (if necessary) and then pressing the "power on room" button. Please allow up to 60 seconds for the display and AV systems to power on.
  2. Move the wireless keyboard and mouse to your desired operating location. Ensure that both devices are powered on.
  3. By now, the PC should be displaying on the monitor. Log in to the PC using your credentials (BSCLOGON).
  4. Open your desired web conferencing software. Some softwares may have a wizard which allows you to select the video and audio source. Ensure that the Vaddio devices are selected for both.
  5. To move the camera, use the controls on the touch panel underneath the camera preview window. Be aware that there will be a slight lag between camera moves and the preview window updating. If the camera is completely out of position, you can re-center it simply by pressing the "full wide" button.
  6. When your web conference is complete, disconnect from your software and log off the computer.
  7. Press "power off system" on the touch panel to shut down the AV equipment.

Using a Laptop Connection

  1. To use a laptop or tablet, first power on the room. This can be done by approaching the touch panel at the front of the room, pressing on the screen to "wake" it up (if necessary) and then pressing the "power on room" button. Please allow up to 60 seconds for the display and AV systems to power on.
  2. Ensure that your device is powered on.
  3. Locate the appropriate cable (stored in the credenza). Plug one end into your device and the other end into the wall plate below the touch panel.
  4. Select the appropriate input on the touch panel.
  5. When your presentation is complete, unplug the cable and return it to the credenza.
  6. Press "power off system" on the touch panel to shut down the AV equipment.

FAQ/ Help

Laptop picture different than what is on monitor?
Turn on display duplication- Windows / Apple

No display from PC?
Ensure the PC is powered on and selected on the touch panel.

No video or audio in web conference?
Check the video and audio input settings in your web conferencing program. Ensure Vaddio is selected.
