Find files in your Microsoft 365 Groups

There are several ways to find files stored in the document libraries in Microsoft 365 Groups of which you are a member. First sign into Microsoft 365 with your Buffalo State fac/staff email address and Network password.

If you know the name of the document, but not the Group:

  1. Click on the App Launcher or "waffle menu" in the upper left corner of your Microsoft 365 screen.
  2. Choose "Delve" from the list of Apps. You may need to click on "All apps" first to be able to see it.
  3. In the Search box in the upper left of Delve, type in the name of the document, or any text you can remember from the document and click on the search arrow icon for full results.
  4. Delve will return relevant results to you. Remember, in Delve you only see documents that you have access to, but it can search through your own OneDrive files, files others have shared with you, Group files, or even email attachments.

If you know the Group where the file is stored:

  1. Make sure you are in Outlook once you have signed into Microsoft 365 (Click on the App Launcher or "waffle menu" in the upper left corner of your Microsoft 365 screen and choose "Outlook" if you are not already there).
  2. In the menu on the left, click on your Group name under "Groups."
  3. Under the name of your Group near the top of the screen, click on the "Files" tab to see the list of all documents stored in the Group document library.
  4. If you would like to add a Group to your Favorites list, right click on the name of the Group in the menu on the left of the screen and choose "Add to Favorites."
