Configure Remote Desktop on your home PC

Note to faculty/staff:
Before using Remote Desktop for the first time, you must
open a ticket requesting access
AND complete a short
online training session
.
Follow these steps on your home PC to configure your Remote Desktop connection:
Open Remote Desktop Connection by clicking the
Start
button. In the search box, type
Remote Desktop Connection
, and then, in the list of results, click
Remote Desktop Connection
.
Click
Show Options
, click the
Advanced
tab, and then click
Settings
under
Connect from anywhere
.
On the
RD Gateway Server Settings
screen,
enter the settings exactly as they appear below
:
Spring 2021 Update:
Students in classes that are using Remote Desktop during the Spring 2021 semester should use the address
RDPGW
.BUFFALOSTATE.EDU
for the gateway server name instead of the address pictured above (BSCRD.BUFFALOSTATE.EDU).
Click
OK
, and then return to the
General
tab.
In the
Computer
box, enter the
device name
of your campus PC.
Enter
bsclogon\
followed by your
Buffalo State username
in the
User name
field.
Click the
Save
button to save the RD Gateway configuration settings.
Click
Connect
and enter your
Buffalo State password
when prompted.
If you receive a message like the one below, check the
Don’t ask me again for connections to this computer box
and click
Connect
.
