I have some questions about my A/V equipment from Classroom Equipment Loan

What are the hours for picking up or returning equipment?
Classroom Equipment loan is open from 8am to 2pm, Monday through Friday. Equipment will NOT be dispensed to patrons after 2pm.

Can I reserve a piece of equipment for my class that's an hour from now?
Due to sanitization procedures required as part of the current pandemic response, we are unable to fulfill requests that are outside of our 72-hour cleaning window. Please reserve equipment at least 3 business days in advance.

How long can I take out a piece of equipment?
Loan duration is determined by the type of equipment and varies according to demand. We try to accommodate everyone’s needs in a fair, consistent manner. In some instances, it may be more beneficial for you (or your department) to purchase your own equipment for long term use. We can assist you with any such evaluations.

What if I can't return my equipment at the agreed-upon time?
Please contact us by phone or e-mail ASAP to let us know you can’t return the equipment on time. Late equipment returns directly affect other users. Knowing about a late return in advance allows us to try and minimize the impact on others!

Do you include accessories with loans?
Items essential to operation like power cords or certain cables are included. If you aren’t sure, please ask! We often recommend accessories that might be needed when you request equipment. Items like batteries and media are NOT included- these are the responsibility of the borrower.

What do I do if an item I borrowed is stolen?
It is very important that you report the theft to University Police at 878-6333. Then notify Classroom Equipment Loan (878-4535) that the equipment has been stolen.

What should I do if I take the wrong piece of equipment from the store room?
Please notify Classroom Equipment Loan (878-4535) immediately. We will work with you to resolve the mix-up.

What if the equipment I have reserved is not in the store room?
Please call Classroom Equipment Loan (878-4535) right away. It is possible that another user mistakenly borrowed the equipment. We will do our best to ensure that you get something to meet your needs in the interim.

The primary contact number is 878-4535. If you are unable to reach us or the line is busy, you may call Classroom Support at 878-6670. They will be able to triage your call and ensure that Equipment Loan responds to you as soon as possible.
